Funny rhino after a woodcut by Albrecht Dürer

Image Description

The world famous Rhinocerus by Albrecht Dürer (1514) as a giraffe. Dürer's woodcut is based on a drawing he made after the story and sketch of a far-travelled contemporary. He never saw a real rhinoceros himself.

First as Rhinoceros with giraffe neck it becomes really clear why the good rhinoceros actually looks so grim... By the way, there is also a rhino with five legs (optical illusion).
