This watercolor shows a portrait of the expressionist Franz Marc, who impressed and influenced me especially in my youth with his sensitive animal paintings. The basis of this portrait is a black and white photograph. So I had only the light-dark values and had to invent the colors. In doing so, I took my cue from the paintings of Franz Marc.
