Image Description
I struggled with this portrait of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh. In advance, I assumed that the picture would be very easy to paint with my neo-poitilistic style. But not at all. The short strokes and especially the emphasized contour lines were almost impossible to paint. What I didn't want to do: paint very very many strings of pearls with tiny little dots. That's why this portrait is such a mishmash: on the one hand the big color dots, on the other hand the strings of dots.
I realized with this picture that I need to find another solution for pictures that have emphasized, painted contours. But how that might look exactly, I do not know yet.
