In the eye of the reef (watercolor)

Image Description

The watercolor painting "In the eye of the reef" shows an underwater landscape. It consists of painted dots of different colors. Up close, you see only colored dots, but the further you move away, the more the dots blur. This slowly creates an almost realistic impression of the image, with the viewer's brain adding details. Whether fish or plants, stones or bubbles - the motif is in the eye of the beholder.

In this new series, I paint the spaces between the dots, which for a long time were white in my pictures - just as in the classic color vision tests a la Ishihara - with colors. In this way the picture gains considerably in luminosity. In addition, it gives me the opportunity to clearly differentiate the color mood.
